Florestan Festival at Peasmarsh

With eight concerts in four days, this last Florestan Trio festival in Peasmarsh includes cherished chamber music from Mozart, Mendelssohn, Shostakovich and Schumann. Czech flavour is evident with works by Dvořák, including the ‘Dumky’ Trio and the beautiful ‘Silent Woods’ for cello and orchestra, while Robert Philip takes a look at the ‘folk’ music influences on Dvořák, Bartók and Ligeti in his Sunday talk.

Concert tickets have once again sold very fast at this year’s 2010 Florestan Festival. Trios Triumph at 6.30pm on Saturday 12 June and the Finale Concert at 7pm on Sunday 13 June are already sold out. But, if you act quickly, you can still get to some wonderful concerts by checking what’s still available now.
